The Japan's Cuban Crisis Wargame/Simulation Post-Event Analysis and Discussion
This is the final of the final event of our Japan's Cuban Crisis wargame/simulation. The event was held both online and in person. Now we know Russia failed to deploy a nuclear missile on the NT due to successful "FDO" by the US and Japan. This was possible only because of the US decision to share the sensitive information with Japan regarding Russia's move. Is this really a "victory" for Japan while it was not necessarily successful in managing the domestic situation, especially the economic and supply-chain situation in Hokkaido?
Is this really a victory for the US when Russia was still able to direct some of its force to Ukraine from the Gulf region after conducting a joint military exercise with China and Iran? What could have been expected to happen when China began to accelrate its activity in the SCC after the presidential election in Taiwan while Japan's Cuban Crisis was not quite over?
How does the participants assess Japan Team's play throughout this wargame and what implications or "lessons" can be drawn from the play as well as how the whole game proceeded?
I hope all of the participants drew some meaningful takeaways out of this time's exercise.
Again, I wish to express my sincere gratitude to those who participated in this series of exercises and those who have kindly assisted and supported this program.
The program has come to an end, and my fate line has also become a bit thinner in Japan toward the end of 2023 as far as wargaming is concerned. 😑
